History of the Study Program
The journey of the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, in developing excellent pharmacy education with strong character and local wisdom.
The Journey of the Study Program
The Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program was established based on a letter from the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) number 0682/D2.2/2005, dated 21 April 2005, concerning the consideration for the establishment of the Pharmacy Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Udayana University. The study program obtained its operational permit through Decree of the Director General of Higher Education number 1787/D/T/2005, dated 25 May 2005.
In 2007, the Pharmacy Study Program obtained an extension of the permit to operate the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program at Udayana University based on Decree of the Director General of Higher Education number 2496/D2.5/2007, dated 23 October 2007.
Subsequently, in 2016, based on the Decree of the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) number 0792/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/VIII/2016, concerning the Status, Ranking, and Accreditation Results of Study Programs at Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia, the Pharmacy Study Program of FMIPA Udayana University was declared accredited with an A rating, valid until 27 August 2021.
In 2021, the accreditation status of the Pharmacy Study Program further improved to Excellent Accreditation from LAM-PTKes, valid until 2026.

“To become an excellent accredited pharmacy education institution that produces pharmacy professionals with excellent character and an independent culture, who are able to compete at the national and regional levels.”
Basis for the Formulation of Vision, Mission, and Objectives
The vision, mission, and objectives of the Pharmacy Study Program were formulated based on the Strategic Plan (Renstra) of the Faculty and University for the period 2014–2019, as well as the results of tracer studies conducted in 2016 and 2018. The formulation process involved stakeholders, alumni, and graduate users such as Kimia Farma, BBPOM Denpasar, Sanglah General Hospital Denpasar, Wangaya Hospital Denpasar, BRSU Tabanan, Sanjiwani Hospital Gianyar, PD IAI-Bali, PD IDI-Bali, and the Traditional Medicine Industry.
The formulation process also involved the LP3M Curriculum Team, the APTFI Curriculum Team, benchmark universities such as the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), as well as the entire academic community of the Pharmacy Study Program, FMIPA Udayana University.
Learning Characteristics
In implementing its vision and mission, the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program offers a learning structure that covers intra- and interdisciplinary fields through Personal Development Courses (MPK), Scientific and Skills Courses (MKK), and Professional Expertise Courses (MKB).
One of the key strengths of the study program lies in the study of natural-product pharmacy, highlighting the local wisdom of Balinese Usada as a foundation for the implementation of the learning system.
The Pharmacy Study Program also actively contributes to realizing the vision and mission of Udayana University through teaching, research, and community service, both directly and indirectly, by assisting communities and relevant institutions in addressing various problems through scientific approaches.
