BENCH MARKING UNDERGRADUATE OF PHARMACY PROGRAM, FACULTY OF MATHEMATICS AND NATURAL SCIENCES, UDAYANA UNIVERSITY, TO THE FACULTY OF PHARMACY, GADJAH MADA UNIVERSITY, YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA, 29 NOVEMBER 2019

Undergraduate of Pharmacy Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) with the aim to make the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM as a role model in the development of Undergraduate of Pharmacy Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University. This is based on the decision of Pharmaceutical Natural Materials as a superior field in pharmacy undergraduate program, on 2019-2024.

The development and downstreaming of herbs has long been carried out at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. In developing research in the field of traditional medicine, UGM Pharmacy is equipped with laboratory equipment that is able to support the teaching staff in conducting research related to the development of traditional medicines. UGM Pharmacy has also collaborated with UKM TBIS (Technology Business Incubation Service) and PT Kalbe Farma in marketing traditional medicinal products that have been produced. Marketing collaboration with the Industry is able to significantly increase drug sales turnover.

The bench marking results are obtained as follows:

1.     Will conduct collaborative research that is more specific to standardize chemical simplicia due to differences in geographical conditions of growing locations. Cooperation will also be carried out at the Malaysian University of Science (USM). USM is known as the center of ASEAN standardization and harmonization of herbs.

2.     Will cooperate in the development of herbal medicine regulations, making it easier for herbal medicine producers.

3.     The final product is an MoU between Udayana University, Gadjah Mada University and Malaysia Science University. This step will strongly support the excellence field of Pharmacy Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University.
